Non-Fiction/Documentary Video

Sound of the Drums

I created this mini-documentary for a production class taught by Dr. Charlene Gilbert while in the American University School of Communication Department of Journalism and Public Affairs MA program. It screened at the 2007 San Francisco Black Film Festival, the 2007 UrbanWorld/Vibe Film Festival and at Intersections: A New America Arts Festival in 2010.

Video of a master class given by Bharata Natyam practitioner Rama Vaidyanathan to students in the NYU Steinhardt Dance Education Program. Vaidyanathan performed on the NYU Skirball stage in October 2011.

Caterpillars and Dogs and Frogs, Oh My!

In October, 2011 The Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia had a world premiere of Treasured Stories by Eric Carle on the NYU Skirball stage. During that run, the company’s performers provided puppetry lessons to students from the NYU Steinhardt Educational Theatre Program, and to graduate students from the NYU Tisch School of the Arts Performance Studies Department. Mermaid Theatre Artistic Director Jim Morrow then sat and discussed with me the serious side of children’s theatre. This video was produced and edited by me, and shot by Jennifer Pritheeva Samuel.
